Broadcaster’s wife ruins perfectly good TV broadcast
Zhang Bin is feeling pretty ashamed of himself right now. As presented the relaunch of China’s main sports channel, CCTV5, he was confronted on stage by his angry wife, a fellow sports anchor.
In case you Chinese is a little rusty, she is accusing Zhang (whom the Daily Mail refer to as ‘China’s answer to Des Lynam’) of having an affair. This is all highly embarrassing for the host nation, but it is not helped the the Daily Mail’s inaccurate reporting: as a love rat, surely Zhang is China’s answer to Lineker, not Lynam. The reputable middle England newspaper also points out that Mrs Hu should not have been surprised over her man’s actions, because Zhang left his first wife for her. This bullying of a cuckolded lady can only be attributed to her choice of neckwear, a Burberry scarf, which we all know is a red rag to the average Daily Mail reader.
