Our American friends over at Fan IQ have carried out a serious journalistic investigation into the most unusual names in sport, and here are the best of their findings:
Fart
A pro women’s football league in Norway, who have managed to get away with a ridiculous name for nearly 74 years.
The Macon Whoopee
A hockey team in Georgia, USA used this name in combination with two mascots: a bird and a bee. Subtle.
The BSC Young Boys
A Swiss football team who like to call the Wankdorf Stadium home. Cue headlines like this:

Deportiva Wanka
A Peruvian football team who take their name from the indigenous people of the area, the Wankas.
F.C. KooTeePee
Another football team, this time from Finland. Sadly, their mascot is not a loo roll.

Yet another football team, whose love for the Colonel’s secret recipe knows no bounds.
The Yuma City Criminals
A high school team who give their students the best start in life by offering ‘Crimwear’ merchandise and a website featuring an angry mascot behind bars.
