Hungry dog halts road to Superbowl
Man’s best friend gets a smack upside the head
Sunday night sees the 42nd annual Superbowl, where NFC champions the New York Giants take on AFC champions the New England Patriots. 63,000 eager fans will gather at the University of Phoenix Stadium to see if the Patriots can achieve the first undefeated season since the Miami Dolphins’ run in 1972, but one Arizona man won’t be joining them.
The unlucky chap is the owner of Buddy, a black Labrador with a love for chewing post and a hate for organised sports. The owner requested that the courier delivering his pair of $900 tickets leave them under the welcome mat, but instead they were slid under the door and into the waiting jaws of Buddy. For destroying the coveted tickets, the dog was made to sleep outside for two days.
It’s may seem like an accident, but in light of Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick’s recent conviction for dog fighting, I wouldn’t be so sure.
