The Cole tackle

Was Ashley Cole trying to get sent off last night?

An alternative interpretation of his attempt to de-leg an opponent

Ashley Cole

Could it possibly be that when Spurs’ Alan Hutton had the brass neck to present his well-turned ankle to Ashley Cole in last night’s game at White Hart Lane, Mr Cole saw an opportunity to take advantage of the current vogue for “horror tackles” and thus earn himself an excellent excuse for not having to face his former employers on Sunday? Although this weekend’s game is to be played in the calmer surroundings of Stamford Bridge, the fixture threatens to stir up all sorts of bad memories for Arsenal and Cole alike. Who wouldn’t want to avoid such a socially embarrassing encounter?

As horror tackles go, it was executed with something approaching text book precision, with tough Alan Hutton going down like he’d been tasered in the leg. Yet referee Mike Riley took a different view, and considered the tackle sufficiently lacking in artistic merit to only deserve a yellow. Pursuing this admittedly tenuous logic, Ashley Cole’s display of outrage was therefore not, as some people seem to think, because he was offended by Riley’s having the nerve to book him, but because he couldn’t believe Mr Riley had failed to send him off. Unlikely, yes, but then he has been under a lot of pressure lately.

morons, of course thats not the reason, the fact is he is a big-time charlie who thinks he is above being scrutinised by a ref.

The whole chelsea team are DOGS

poor cashley, can’t even do enough to be sent off any more, he is as universally popular as Lily Allen, only liked by those silly enough to mistake shameless name dropping and a mockney accent for talent

Shame we don’t still have Viera to make amends for that tackle, still, am sure Gallas will want a few words!!!

“Shame we don’t still have Viera to make amends for that tackle,”

I’m sure Eboue will try his best

I hope Terry’s face gets broken by carvalho’s boot. A Cole/A Hole, Terry, Lampard, Mikel: scum players at a scum club.

Ive come to a similar conclusion with regards to chelsea. I always thought The scousers were them scumbags the league, or maybe man u. but to be fair, theyre both pretty timid compared to the scum that is chelsea. as said, their players are scum, but to be fair, their fans are the biggest scum. chavvy little fuckwits who would beat eachother up just because theyre so bored with their crappy football. owned by a russian mafia affiliate, club policy run by kenyon, on of the biggest scumbags there, the fans deserve to live in their south london squalors eating their jellied eels, their players are arsey self obsessed wankers. to be fair, when i say that im talking about lampard, cashley & terry. namely their ‘english backbone’. and theyre managed by the most boring man ive ever seen. all adds up to the last team i would ever want to support. id rather watch conference football week in week out than affiliate myself with that bunch of cash hungry c*nts. UP THE ARSENAL!

Josh, with regards to the chelsea “english backbone” i believe Joe Cole would be ahead of Ashley Cole in that pecking order son. You might want to find a more logical reason for hating Chelsea other than “Their scum” it takes a lot of intelligence to name call.

well theres a few points here. firstly mr laughable (apt name for your post) if you are going to use quotation marks then you may want to take an extract from my post rather than using a phrase utilising the wrong term (you would be looking for ‘they’re scum’). secondly, your post was based around my lack of any arguement or depth of arguement? ive named the owner, the fans, Kenyon (whatever he is), the location of the majority of their fans, plus their players. That did include naming the players I had in mind. When I left out Joe Cole, I did so with the intention of only grouping the players that I thought fitted the description of how I believe the players carry themselves. I dont believe that Joe Cole is like them and so I didnt include him. If you wanted me to say every one of the Chelsea players act like that, then you are truly misguided. In fact, if I had included all the team, then I would have to say that my comments werent truthful. But I stand by my comments, I stand by you being a Chelsea retard, and Ill be the one chuckling when Arsenal stick the proverbial Penis up the big money hungry arsehole that is Chelsea FC.
    UP THE ARSENAL!

    for once i agree with a gooner…

i’m a yid and i actually hate chelsea more then the arse…. we used to call highbury the libary but did anyone else hear the chelsea fans at wembley (or any other stadia including their own) nope… nor did i!!!

chelsea are a team for the man who “i didnt like football as a kid or even early adult life but i will choose chelsea because they win”

    ashley cole is scum.

    enough said

Its a day for firsts coz im with Wunian here. I live with a Chelsea season ticket holder, hes been into them all his life. For all the time Ive known him hes loved Chelsea, but as time goes on he cares less and less. Including not even watching the game last night (we get it online). Its because of what Chelsea stand for and who they are. They used to be the same old scummy fans, but then you kinda saw the attractiveness of liking them a bit. Zola, Petrescu, Poyet, Vialli, Gullit. they had some likeable characters there over the years. Now look at them. They arent a football club, theyre like some impassioned business except they lose rather than make money). the players only go there for the money (Cashley….lol!). I even see how people can support Spurs. But Chelsea, are exactly as you said. Theyre the club for people whove never been into football and just chose a team based on superficial things like whether theyre in for the likes of Ronaldinho. They may think that in the eyes of the world theyre up there at the top, but in reality theyre the dirt beneath the feet of the premier league. Long live football clubs, fuck football as a bit of a laugh for some corrupt tosspot! P.s Levy’s a cu*t too, but i think spurs fans all know that :)

I like your style, Josh. But can you please stop using my name? People might think it’s me and it isn’t.

  • Josh M // March 20, 2008 at 4:37 pm

Since your a fan of my style (didnt know I had one), your wish is my command!

  • Dusty // March 20, 2008 at 4:47 pm

I must say im with angry Chelsea hater Josh on this one, Chelsea have ended up with most of the money grabbing big time charlies that are in our league [with the exception of that prick Rio], Big JT Englands heroic Skipper[wake up, fat useless fuck], Lumpard, Cashley, Bridge ect! It will be good for the league if they win nothing, reckon the Russian Wierdo will fuck them off if thats the case, then we will see if Franky wanky will get his 150k a week!

  • RedMist // March 20, 2008 at 5:03 pm

Well said, Dusty. Biggest Pricks 5-a-side squad

    1. John Terry
    2. Rio Ferdinand
    3. Ashley Cole
    4. Drogba
    5. Van Persie
    Manager: Gary Megson

Have to say that I agree with the anti-chelsea sentiment. As a club in recent years they represent everything I abhor in football bacuase… The nationalistic punditry mercilesslessly kiss the collective rears of the Chelsea English contingent (almost as much as they do with the entire Manchester United machine. Because MU are the only club automatically entitled to win everything it seems LOL), due to irrational nationalistic tendencies against all things foreign.

The fact that a private individual happily pumps over half a billion into a perpetual loss making venture (given questionable credentials over how he accumulated that money in the first place) smacks of some clever money laundering scam.

The fact their behaviour on the pitch when decisions go against them is little short of assault on opposition players and referees alike.

The fact that they have a snake like kenyon (whore to the highest bidder) steering their commercial ship.

let alone the copious paycheck players they attract…. all point to a club that disgusts me. Where are the days of Zola and Gullit. Where is the sportsmanship and honest behaviour as opposed to the bile they spout (mourinho was a master of this and actualy turned my stomach with his lack of respect for his opponents).

Quite simply they now represent everything that is wrong with modern sport and the pundits happily turn a blind eye to it all because they have English players.

  • tonyS // March 21, 2008 at 9:49 am

He was 100% tyring to get himself sent off, when it failed for the tackle he thought he’d try some dissent. Now his only hope is that they will play Wayne Bridge instead……3rd time lucy Ash!!

  • eastwood // March 21, 2008 at 10:26 am

..and now he’s apologised. what a prat… let him play on sunday and let walcott drive him mental.

  • cfc // March 21, 2008 at 4:30 pm
