Bad acting

Anelka gets his missed penalty face all wrong

Two reactions, one right, one wrong

It’s not rocket science, absolutely everyone knows that if you miss a penalty in a big game, you have to cry. Without tears, people won’t feel sorry for you, and your team mates will start fearing the worst. SWP might poke Joe Cole in the ribs, and whisper something about how you don’t look fussed enough. What an idiot, they will think, coming to our club, not giving a monkeys.

JT got his post-penalty reaction spot on – before even making it back to halfway, the tears were rolling down his face, his bottom lip was all over the place. Textbook weeping, JT. Something the fans and media will look at and admire. A grown man sobbing like a child is moving – even when it’s a hateful gelled-up idiot.

Someone who got it oh so wrong was Anelka. Never has a man looked less bothered after losing a big cup. He might as well have just yelped “awww, shucks!” hitting his knee playfully with his fist. He no doubt spent the rest of the evening saying “I know, I know, gutted… really gutted” in the world’s most hollow voice, whilst everyone else wept genuine tears and held each other.

Ok. John Terry cried because he couldn’t control his emotions. Anelka didn’t. So he’s bad? This is so normal. Anelka is a good player that can change the outcomes in every match. However, luck is not always with everyone. He couldn’t get the ball in. The Chelsea crew lost the cup to Man Utd. IT’S JUST A GAME! Whether a player cries or not while losing doesn’t mean that (s)he is not in good terms with the team. By the way, I would like to remind people that T. Henry
did not show a happy face when he used to score for Arsenal at a time. That doesn’t mean that he didn’t like to score for his team. I’m not Anelka’s fan but I think that hiding his emotions was normal and fair. I hope that you didn’t have any value-judgement involved in this article as it would be a total bias.

Anelka went to chelsea because he wanted to be at a big club but he’s not prepared to do what he has to for the team. He’ll be at newcastle or city or some tinpot european side by June

90 grand a year an he won’t take a penalty because he’s upset about stuff – if grant had asked him to walk out there in lipstick and stilettos and take a penalty he should have done it.
