Palace youngster reveals Fulham transfer on Facebook!

Winger is a little bit indiscreet about move across London

Ashley-Paul Robinson

It would be a lot easier for the world to follow the Cristiano Ronaldo transfer saga if he declared all his professional movements to the world through his Facebook status. Crystal Palace’s young winger Ashley-Paul Robinson has done exactly this, allowing all 2.7million people on the London network to see where his career is heading.

Ashley-Paul, who has yet to master the English language, wrote “Ashley-Paul is goin fulham on monday. If i pull dis off im on dis ting,” on Saturday. Obviously believing this was not subtle enough, he followed it up with “Ashley-Paul Is Travling 2 Bath With Fulham Fingers Crossed. (Im lukin 2 Get Sum Tips Of Jimmy Bullard He’s ON DIS TING NO HYPE LOL !” on Sunday.

Yesterday afternoon, he realised he has absolutely no security on his profile and that people had become aware of this private negotiation, and declared: “Ashley-Paul has been very naughty lol !”

A Crystal Palace spokesperson has said they are thoroughly embarrassed by his behaviour, and Robinson has every reason equally abashed – check out his Facebook profile picture:

Ashley-Paul Robinson

Posing topless while doing a gang sign? Really? Come on Ashley-Paul, we can see the refelction of you holding the camera in your sunglasses! It’s this kind of online representation that will land you on a site like this.

Spoiler bonus: If you want to make contact with Ashley Paul and you speak ‘idiot’, you’re in luck: “if u want 2 no about me msg me n i will feel 3 to tell u n e thing lol.”

its coments like i’ve read on this page that make me wonder what the world is coming to.
if the negligence of a 19 year old young man in securing his facebook page raises so much interest – there’s no hope for ending 3rd world debt.
i don’t know any gangs that use that sign?? its clearly not a gun – more star trekky than anything and i can only hazard a guess that the assumption of this gesture is a gang sign because he is a black male.
obviously no one at this establishment has lived in london, among youths that share the kind of dialect that this man dons and its a crying shame that he has been labelled as an “idiot” because he chooses to speak to his friends in slang.

no one can justify his stupidity in declaring his plans to the world – but surely in taking a look at the bigger picture it is clear that in some sort of inane excitement and anticipation he thought that sharing his news on his site would’nt result in this media furore.

as a young man familiar with this type of premature decision making – i can only hope that in labelling robinson as a gun-wielding, witless, gang member, people can feel better about themselves for rejoicing in another black mans misfortune!

and yes, go ahead and assume i am also black so you can continue to feel good and put my comment down to ” blak ppl stikin 2geva”!

I didn’t see one mention of his ethnicity in the article, the only reference to race is in your comment where you’re trying to invent something that isn’t there. All I see here is a funny news story – nothing more, nothing less.

I agree with Avram Magic, I think you may be drawing a race issue out of nothing, anon. It’s not implying that Robinson is in a gang at all, but do you think that hand gesture is meant to show his appreciation of the number three?

The text message slang doesn’t have any link to race, it’s simply a lazy bastardisation of English.

And a man who reveals confidential information with huge implications on several organisations is an irrefutable ‘idiot’.

It’s ‘pathetic’ that you automatically assume it is a race thing.

    I iz braaaap!

maybe it was premature to assume it was a race issue, though i don’t feel as though my point should be disregarded!

in the age we live in its easy to pinpoint young black men as violent and volatile individuals and its a personal qualm of mine which may not be directly related to the football issue, though i feel its still a valid one.

also, in choosing the single photo on the gentlemans facebook where he is displaying any action suggestive of a “gang” is nothing short of trivial to me, because in the rest of the pictures he is seen to be surrounded by family or things relating to his football – why not choose them?

the media is obviously focusing on how robinson released “confidential” information but in actual fact – how much harm has really been done?

Also, if he was under some sort of contract with a club, surely this would be a larger issue involving the FA? – i feel as though i may not be the only one supposedly making mountains out of molehills.

That picture was chosen because that’s the picture Robinson chose! It’s his profile picture! We all know racism is unacceptable, but you’re clutching at straws now mate!
