Paper hints United have found some oil money of their own
City may not be the only petro-dollar fuelled team in Manchester for much longer
Today’s Sunday Times features a piece about the investment strategy of the massive Abu Dhabi fund that has recently enabled Manchester City to step out of the shadow of their wealthier and more successful neighbours, and re-brand themselves as the world’s wealthiest club. City’s moments in the sun have historically been rare and short-lived, and this current burst of glory may conform to that same pattern, if the final paragraph of the Times‘ piece is to be believed.
“The only thing that could put a damper on such gloating would be if the gossip circulating this weekend proves to be true. The American owners of Manchester United, so the rumours go, will soon receive an offer to buy the club that they cannot refuse – from the Dubai royal family.”

Oh well, at least if they get taken over it will put an end to the “they’re ruining football” comments and the questions about the “fit and proper persons test” directed towards MCFC . As we all know, no one would dare question the team from Salford. In fact, all of the brown-nosed (red-nosed?) sycophants in the media would hail it as the best thing to ever happen to the game and get on with their constant belittling of City.

They’re gonna have to be wealthy – they’d need to pay of the £750+ millions they are in debt before they even shell out on players!

Well said James
As long suffering supporters of Manchester City, We know the score when it comes to the media and although I’ve tried to convince my self its just a persecution complex I have …. Its not, its sickeningly real, sadly.
Utd loving writers in the press and media are always so bitter and patronising towards our club, it stinks.
No news is good news where we are concerned.
I know a little bit about Dubai, for a kick off they have no Oil to speak of and their economy is based on huge borrowing, So I wish the Al Makhtoum family all the best if they want to take on The ruling family of the whole United Arab Emirates in a head to head Billion dollar business …… Can’t see it myself lol

I so happens, that City told their owners, that cheapest way to get Ronaldo would be to buy entire United.
After buying United there will be an official auction, where the rest of the players can be bought.
Old Trafford will be transformed to a shopping mall, wher you can buy a piece of the pitch i.e.

the royal family of dubai own dubai international capital through whom they want to buy liverpool fc.they have failed in their attempts in the last two years though hicks and gillet will definately sell as they have to repay a loan of 350 million by january which is not possible as they are not putting their pesonal wealth in this and also invest in the new stadium as soon as possible
this talk about them buying manchester united is just media gossip because the new owner of manchester city is the dubai sheikh’s son in law,and the media is a making out a story that he wants to show his son in law that whose boss .

The Times article is a little bit inaccurate. The prospective new oil man rumoured to be taking over United is in fact American. I think hios name is Jed Clampit something or other!! Hip hip!!
