Joyful Geordies?

Naked chests await sunlight this Saturday at St James’ Park

If you look closely enough, it’s not all bad

Newcastle haven’t won a game for a month now, they don’t have a permanent manager – damn it, even Terry Venables doesn’t want anything to do with them. But are things really so bad up at St James’ Park? Like, HONESTLY? The Spoiler decided to search of a silver lining, and guess what brothers and sisters? We found one. You can welcome Blackburn Rovers with confidence, children of Newcastle, here’s why:

1. Newcastle haven’t failed to score in any home game this season and their opponents on Saturday, Blackburn, haven’t scored more than one goal in any of their last four.

2. The last time Keegan walked out on a club it took the team a couple of games to settle – Man City didn’t win until their third league game in the post Keegan era, a 1-0 victory over Liverpool. And with this Saturday the third league game for Newcastle post Keegan, maybe it’s a good omen?

3. Newcastle had some very patchy form last season, but they never lost more than four games on the trot – they salvaged a point against Birmingham in March to end a run of four straight league defeats.

4. Michael Owen has a fantastic scoring record against Blackburn – he’s scored eight goals in eleven appearances against them.

5. Whilst nobody has a worse goal difference in the Premier League than Newcastle, Blackburn also have -5, which basically means they’ve got the next worst defence in the league – what greater hope could the Newcastle fans get?

5 reasons why Newcastle will lose tomorrow.

    1) Newcastle arn’t going to score in every home game, they are due a goalless game.
    2) Blackburn therefore only need 1 goal (again) to win .
    3) Newcastle have a new manager (even though he is a temp he is still officially manager) and the last new manager took 8 games before a win.
    4) Newcastle have never (in recent years) lost 4 on the trot but Newcastle have never been in such dissarray. 4th losing game is on the cards.
    5) Michael Owen is the only player capable of scoring at the moment & he is due a scoreless game.
