Five reasons why it’s all over for Tottenham
Time to jump ship, Spurs fans?
What a horrendous start to the season. Poor Spurs. Pre-season hinted towards a brighter day, with Darren Bent providing some decent form to sooth the inevitable loss of Berbs along with Keano. But it’s all gone awry. To the point where Ramos couldn’t even squeeze Bent into the starting line up against Portsmouth, while, as if to add insult to injury, it was two ex-Tottenham strikers who sealed a south coast victory. Has one man ever been more unlucky?
Our pals at Chickendinner have come up with five reasons to get even more depressed – avid supporters, look away now…
» Five of the last six clubs to have failed to win any of their opening six Premier League games have been relegated. The team that survived – West Brom in 2004-05 – didn’t fare much better, going into the final day in last place before completing a great escape.
» In each of the last six seasons, the team that have been bottom after five games has gone on to be relegated: West Ham, Wolves, Crystal Palace, Sunderland, Sheffield United and Derby.
» And five of the last six that have been bottom after six games have also gone down.
» Worryingly for Tottenham, Derby (four) had double the number of points that Spurs (two) have right now after six games last season.
» Victory over Newcastle in the Carling Cup was heralded as a turning point in Tottenham’s season but that’s not the case. Fourteen of the last fifteen relegated clubs have cleared their first hurdle in the competition.

Berbatov must be thinking “Who’s the smoking arseface right now, uh?”
Wait…the smoking arseface is still Berbs, he only managed to take a hike in the right time.

Five reasons why the media/sites like this are killing the game
1 – Illegal tapping up of top players
2 – Endless sniping and criticism towards clubs likely to break the “big 4″ stranglehold
3 – Whining whenever 1 or 2 happens to one of the “big 4″ (see Real Madrid/Ronaldo vs Man Utd/Berbatov = same situation, different reaction)
4 – “The only way to win things is to join one of the big 4″
5 – Dedicating the vast majority of their space/TV time to the “big 4″

-This article is about Spurs so it could hardly be any further from a story about the Big Four!
-You don’t half love a generalisation about the media!
-You’re not a club likely to break the big four (though congrats for breaking the bottom three!) so I don’t understand point 2. They are not criticising Hull, who look more likely to break the big 4!

What has your 2 got to do with it…..Will Spurs ever realise they have NO CHANCE of breaking into the top 4 since they sacked the only manager that got close in Martin Jol.
