CLB

Aaron Lennon is out injured and anyway i would rather have Ashley Young there because he is naturally two footed and is in form which Aaron Lennon is not

It's great that Gerrard is so versatile because otherwise he'd be sat on the bench because when it comes to choosing one of them to start in their preferred attacking midfield position, Lampard takes it all day long at the moment - and this from a West Ham fan who is none too fond of Lamps. I also don't see the logic in breaking up the Barry-Lampard partnership that finally beat Croatia.

Gerrard is just way more versatile than Lampard. He has to transition constantly and has rarely played for country where he is most comfortable. They ask a lot of him and no, he hasn't been mind-numbingly amazing, but he has done well. Lampard is catered too-- and although very talented-- if they can't work together, then Lampard should hit the bench first... not Gerrard.

Yes, I'm a Pool fan... yes I'm biased. But, I honestly think there is no reason they can't co-exist. And if not, Gerrard is the better choice.

Interesting idea. I do hope that you'd have Barry playing behind Lamps in a defensive role much like in the match against Croatia. For CLB thinking that Joe Cole should be on instead of SWP, I think that most would agree, however, Joe Cole is currently injured and unavailable. And Wes Brown only ever gets picked because he plays for United. Ashley Cole and Wayne Bridge are the two best left backs England currently has. There is no way that Wes Brown should replace either of them. Say whatever you want about Ashley off the pitch, but on it, he's re-found his Arsenal form this season. I'd eventually like to see Micah Richards make the lineup.

Gerrard is good with the longball and for galloping runs from end to end, no matter how many LFC supporters tell me he likes to get up front. I think he does that because he has to for Liverpool. He'll be fine at right back having the run of the wing. Currently, Lampard is in amazing form, he held that whole midfield together agains Croatia, linked up nicely with Barry (better than Gerrard has done) and created vast amounts of space for Rooney and Walcott for goal scoring opportunities.

Where is Wes Brown??? He's an amazing defender and has earned the right to play. I think he should be playing instead of Ashley Cole. He's terrible and a princess. We need someone dedicated to the game not being a star.

It's all well and good, I can see it having potential to ... perhaps not destroy but actually achieve something. One thought, here: why is Gerrard in defence? I would much rather have him in Lampard's place and put someone like Wes Brown at rightback. SWP could be replaced by Joe Cole and I'd like to give Aaron Lennon a try even though he has sort of fizzled out... The team's okay; s'all good.
