Live your dream of becoming a footballer… on a computer
No need to leave the house ever again…
In honesty, when it comes to computer games, The Spoiler pretty much lost interest after Jet Set Willy. There was nowhere else to go. And yet, these things have gone on and on, creating zany fantasy lands where dungareed Italian men fight for princesses, you can drive around killing people in New York/Los Angeles hybrids, and now a group called CyberSports have tickled everyone’s fancy with a game-type-thing called Football Superstars. In it, you get to live life as a footballer, on and off the pitch. The idea probably being that you get the “whole experience” – the wages, the training, the shopping.
However, were this a truly adequate representation of life as a modern footballer, you’d be sitting at home playing a computer game about someone sitting at home playing a computer game. And then, somewhere down the line, the whole universe would implode.
