Harry Redknapp tells Sky Sports that he’s going to Spurs
Events at White Hart Lane take an even more shocking turn
Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp has phoned up Sky Sports News to confirm he has agreed to succeed Juande Ramos as manager of Tottenham.
Shortly after their initial announcement confirming the exit of Juande Ramos, Gus Poyet and Damien Comolli, Spurs released a second statement confirming Portsmouth had reluctantly granted Spurs permission to speak with Redknapp.
This means that Spurs, who are supposedly well-run financially, will for the second time in a year be forced to pay a mammoth fee to buy out a manager’s contract. In January, Redknapp decided against leaving Portsmouth for then mid-table Newcastle so his decision to quit for the team bottom of the Premier League without a win is a huge shock, although the money has dried up at Fratton Park in recent months.
As far as his form in relegaton battles goes, Redknapp took Southampton down in 2004-05 but helped turn Portsmouth’s season around upon returning the following campaign and kept them in the Premier League. Is Redknapp the right man to turn Tottenham’s fortunes around? Is he making a big mistake? Let us know with a comment below.

Harry Redknapp is such a betrayer, he is a good manager but he just dont know what he wants, after making more than 28 signings for Pompey he is now gonna leave them langushing managerless like that how ruthless, All these players he promised and agreed with his terms are now left in this mud, First of all he signed Lauren from Arsenal and told him that he will make him a star at Fratton Park but Lauren only started 4 preimer league games since then, He then sold Benjani 2 mins before deadline in the janury transfer without him even concerting to be in favour of the deal and now he is just gonna live a squad of more than 36men langushing without a manager although he strongly approved he wanted to stay at the club just a month prior

can’t blame him. he’s 61 and only just recently won 1 FA Cup. unfortunate turn of events but can you blame him for saying yes? 99% in his position would have bitten spurs’ hand off, bottom place or not.

bitten spurs hand off to get treated liked s*it by Levy… Ramos looked like he’d given up but he was just another manager completely undermined by the chairman

Levy thinks he can just cobble together any bunch of people – commolli, poyet, ramos, buy and sell players, and they’ll somehow come together, get on, enjoy a fruitful working relationship and win things. He’s an accountant and that’s how you probably run a succesful accountancy firm.
