Awkward Award Ceremony
Video: Harry Redknapp receives freedom of Portsmouth, shouted abuse
Spurs boss returns to old stomping ground
The Spoiler has nothing but admiration for ‘Arry for showing the bravery and decency to turn up and collect the freedom of the city of Portsmouth from Lord Mayor Richard Jensen yesterday. As you can hear above, he received a few heated jeers from angry fans, and at least one fan was ejected for some choice words he directed at the Tottenham boss.
Was he right to collect the award he earned for bringing the FA Cup to Portsmouth for the first time since 1939? Or was he rubbing salt in Pompey fans’ wounds? Let us know with a comment below.
