Now we lose to albion so definately out with hughes by the time he gets it right the season will get over n city might do a leeds united bring in hiddink he knows how to handle money n big name players they really need the likes of veloso taiwo n an extraordinary striker by the way instead of them paying 60 mn for villa rather they get hold of benzema for the same amount

Hughes is not up to the job as he is not capable of handling world class players together with their egos. He did well at "meat and potatoes" Blackburn, but he is at a different level now and it shows. With a club full of interntional players he cannot cobble a win against the weakest opposition and has somehow managed to drive the team into the relegation zone.
I don't believe it will make any differnce who is brought in come January. With Ailsa at the helm it could well be the Championship for City in 2009.

good points folks but i'll stick by what i've wrote, if you unleash sven with that amount of money he would deliver. we play west brom at the hawthornes this weekend and i'll put money on it we do not win. we'll draw with hull at home and blackburn will have a new manager so you know what that means! we'll probably get spanked. we will limp into the new year miles away from a place in europe and never recover.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the owners have echoed my sentiments haven't they? Hughes may or may not turn out to be the best City manager in 30 odd years, but the only way of finding out is by giving him something no other City boss has had since before bacon face joined the rags all those years ago...time!

Around the same time that we beat them 5-1, the utd board had a difficult decision to make regarding the future of their manager. Do they listen to the increasing groundswell of "fergie out" arguments, or do they hang fire and see if his signings come good and they start to climb the table?

They made a good choice.

We, the fans, are a passionate bunch. We see some, but not all of what goes on at the club. We don't see the day to day, the work behind the scenes, the training or the team talks. All we can base our (sometimes irrational) comments on what we see at eastlands every other Saturday. We don't see what the board see other than for the 90mins on the pitch - important though it is.

We're the best team in the world after beating arsenal and now we are the worst. My opinion is that we are somewhere in between. Its only my opinion, but I just think that sacking Hughes at this point is rash, mis-informed and ill advised.

What do we do in May (after the new "big name" manager has had his 5 months like Hughes) and things are no better?

Sack him too?

Things always seem worse after a defeat!

Cheers,

Scott

"It’s typical of today’s “I want it all, and I want it now!” society to want to chop and change at the first sign of a hitch."

Scott, sorry to break this to you mate but it's the owners of MCFC that want it all now anf they are the ones who'll be sacking Hughes for Mourinhho,or Klinsman or someone they've heard of.

the harsh reality, scott, is that if you want to move up you need make changes cold-heartedly. you and others may want to do a villa or an everton but i'm sure there's plenty others especially the sheikhs who are getting more and more sick and tired of mediocrity. it's not ideal but that's football these days. plus there's enough big names out sniffing around for a job.

Agree with every sentiment in Scott's post besides one point: you won't find instant success by supporting Arsenal!
