He didn't say anyone had to "be in the closet" about it and not tell anyone, he just said that it's advisable to keep it in your personal life and separate your private and professional spheres. And obviously Lippi would doubt the existence of gay footballers other than "a few", since he hadn't met any in 40 years of coaching, while obviously this "Victory" person would have a different perspective because of his experience with these gay footballers. It is silly to call Lippi's comments "homophobia".
