Rio Ferdinand: too cheap to buy DVDs of favourite TV show

Oh! Rio! What’s occuring?

With an income of more than £100,000 a week, one would imagine Rio Ferdinand could easily afford to purchase every single new DVD release.

James Corden, the writer and star of Gavin & Stacey, however, has revealed the extent of the Manchester Utd star’s penny pinching:

“I picked up the phone when Rio called our production office, asking f we could send him a DVD of the last series. Rio loves the show and always texts me lines from the series”

To summarise, Rio is friends with the main star of the show and knows it well enough to quote lines from it, but is still not willing to buy a copy of the DVD.
