Who is more of a laughing stock – Manchester City or Tottenham?
Whose fans are getting the most stick right now?
After clinching the “Most embarrassing way to qualify for a cup final” Award last night, many Tottenham fans were left to despair at their disjointed shambles of a team. The game was so humiliating in fact, that Londoners now feel ashamed about sharing a city with such a motley crew. “Um, yes, I’m from a large conurbation in the South East,” an awkward man was overheard saying at Charing Cross this morning.
Yet Spurs aren’t necessarily the definitive jokers of the league at present. After spectacularly failing in bids for Kaka, David Villa, Jesus Christ and Bobby Charlton, Manchester City have become an internationally renowned laughing stock, with less “pulling power” than a horse with no legs.
So, who are the biggest jokers? Votes and smug comments below, please…

Just curious… Were Real Madrid an “internationally renowned laughing stock” for their inability to pull off a similar capture of Cristiano Ronaldo over the summer? Strangely, I don’t recall hearing about The Death of Football when it was Real Madrid splashing out a nine-figure offer for a top footballer. It seems there’s some massive hypocrisy going on here, with clubs like Real Madrid being treated in one manner and “uppity” clubs like City who “don’t know their place” being treated in quite another way by the media and the fans who take their cues from the media. Shameful, really.

Ok we were not very convincing, but this was a side that knocked out Chelsea, Arsenal and Fulham, i did not see you take the piss out of those teams. You really are a dick of the highest order and seem to revel in the supposed notoriaty you feel you must have, in reality you are just a sad cunt.

With the talent spurs have on the pitch up and down, last night was a disgrace . . . not sure who wrote the rules on going to OT rather than use away goals rule, but thank you. Either Harry isn’t as good a manager as we all (or he for that matter) think, or our players think too much of themselves. It’s a damn good thing that the table is so tight this year or we’d be a 5/2 favorite for relegation. Spurs are the bigger laughing stock right now, but in the long run, it’ll be Man City . . . they are like Dudley Moore in Arthur.
Diamons // January 22, 2009 at 2:49 pm
And every commentor who’s come on to call the writer a cunt has also voted for Newcastle in the poll.
I love it, that swayed my view on the standing of these two messes.

Bottom line is Spurs are in a cup final. Every other team except Man Utd has been knocked out. You can laugh at how they got there, but they got there.
john // January 22, 2009 at 2:57 pm
looks like we can all tell who the man shitty and twattenham fans are. stop getting mad just b/c someone says something bad about your team. what’s bad is that you just complain about how unfair the media is being but do nothing to defend your team. man city is being ridiculed right now b/c they’re trying to buy their success overnight. outside of robinho and ireland and elano they have no depth. and as for tottenham, who cares? i want nothing more in this world than to see both of these teams get relegated at the end of this season.

johnny bag fuck off you should want the cheating bastard that are taking ephedrine Energy boosting drugs to go down not super spurs we are being mugged by robot drug takers . If you think iam being stupid the teama i found out where and still are using this drug are in the top ten and there are a lot more using it with players attached to this club in the past so fuck of calling spurs because you no newt
Paul // January 22, 2009 at 3:22 pm
Absoute rubbish. Tottenahm have got themselves to a wembley final and City are the richest club in the world. Whats funny about that????
Real Madrid made a £70 million bid to buy Ranaoldo with todays exchange rate would be closer to £95 million…and guess what that failed too? Not funny either.
Why dont you get off your fat arse and write to real stories you lazy cunt.

You are a funny guy. No really, you are so, so funny. A career in the media awaits you. I’d bet a lot of money that you don’t just spend the rest of your career peddling cheap shots on shite websites like this.
Shit me I wish I was as clever as you. I admire you, I so do. Now fuck off.

Jenks // January 22, 2009 at 4:07 pm
Getting a bit fed up with these hobby journo’s who seem to think it’s funny that City are going to spend big money on big names. OK, It’s going to be difficult attracting the best names, if you don’t try, you don’t know do ya?…The cheek of it eh, little City having the neck to try and sign the big names in world football.
Pathetic articles poorly written like this, on trashy websites, like this…how dare you try and nose in on the big boys!!…know your place, the cheek of you, etc etc etc. Familiar???….Cock.
Ronald Cristian // January 22, 2009 at 4:13 pm
No cheek involved Jenks my son…who in their right mind would want to play for Citeh? wont be long til Robinho realises his mistake and pops down to London!! hahaha
Harry Hosk // January 22, 2009 at 5:03 pm
How the f*k can a team concede SIX goals over two legs and then claim they were MUGGED? Fact is they were lucky that Alnwick was in goal. The End.
mancblue // January 22, 2009 at 5:26 pm
its great the way a lot of united fans who are meant to be from Manchester are ridiculing the way Mancunians say city. if you were a manc u wud understand but a manc united fan is truly unheard of
Noddy // January 22, 2009 at 5:31 pm
Definately raised eyebrows.. but ‘laughing stock’.. frankly no.
Next time try taking your other hand off your hairy plums when you tap out an article like this one.
jaseblue // January 22, 2009 at 5:34 pm
Another pathetic rag attempt at writing. City are the richest club in the world and have just signed one of the best defensive midfielders in Europe. Spurs have just reached a final of a cup, who gives a fuck how they got there? The true laughing stocks are bitter twisted no mark ‘journalists’ that write utter shite like this.
CCCracker // January 22, 2009 at 6:16 pm
Let’s get to the real point: City more than any club in the world have got the MOST money. Sooner or later that money is going to work for them and the effect will be that they steadily go up in the world.
No only that but City seem to be the ONLY club with big money available. Don’t you remember reading that Valencia and AC Milan are in debt. Weren’t they ready to negotiate? That means that they were ready to seal.
With money like City have available, and only City have available, City are destined to rise right to the top. Take it or leave it; this is the real future for City. Everything else is just hot air.
That’s how Chelsea got to where they are now in just a few seasons.
E.Action // January 22, 2009 at 7:11 pm
Hahaha I liked the journalism. And every single one of the vile angry comments!!! Simply made my afternoon, thanks all!
Naethyn // January 23, 2009 at 4:16 am
HAHAHAHAHA…City is the wealthiest club in the World, and they still cant convince any self-respecting footballer to join them. Simply put; you cant buy class.
lex_dexter // January 27, 2009 at 7:47 pm
the original article was spot on. and the hideous bitter vile repsonse pretty much prove what a laughing stock both clubs have become. in a world of justice both these teams would be relegated. if it happens we will all know that football really does find a way.
