I think the best bit about the Bogarde story is that he lived in Holland for the 4 years and flew across on the days he had to train!!

Could of also added; Nick Barmby the player who was treated as an icon at Everton for four years, became captain on a few ocassions and gained his first England caps whilst at the club, but then decides the grass is greener on the other side and joined Liverpool where at Anfield he played a handful of games in two years, became a bench-warmer, picked up more money before being sold where he went on to become a star in Leeds United’s relegation story and then slipping further down the football pyramid to play for local side Hull City in the Second division at the time.

morale of that: the grass isn’t always greener.

Steven Gerrard could also be added, it may suprise a few people with this inclusion, but many people forget that Gerrard is only still at Liverpool to this day after holding the club to ransom for an extra £40,000 a week, enraging many fans by holding talks with Chelsea about a possible move “if Liverpool failed to win the European Cup” to which they did, meaning Gerrard “stayed out of loyalty” never forgetting the extra massive pay-rise.

@ Runcers, you have to remember that Berbatov turned down double the money at City. He wanted a move for footballing reasons and stuck to that! Money was never an issue.

Cristiano Ronaldo is still at Man Utd and by all accounts wants to stay. If he starts up again in the summer I sayt add him to the list, but for now, let’s give him the benefit of the doubt!

you are pathetic and obviously a bitter Spurs fan.
he wants to play good football. he could have played for a club just as big as a joke as spurs (i’m sure you can guess it – they are city rivals with the club he currently plays for). he decided to play for man u because the amount of good football and trophys he will attain at man u is a REALITY.
if he stayed at spurs he would be playing championship football next year.
