CRISIS AT THE BRIDGE

Chelsea sack Luiz Felipe Scolari

Avram Grant is 2/1 joint-favourite to return

Chelsea will be forced to employ a fourth manager in just eighteen months after announcing the sacking of Luiz Felipe Scolari.

Blues fans directed a chorus of “you don’t know what you’re doing” at the Brazilian after Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Hull saw them slip below Aston Villa into fourth but there was no real speculation that the axe was about to fall.

Ray Wilkins has been placed in temporary charge and the leading contenders to take over according to Sky Bet are Guus Hiddink, Avram Grant, Frank Rijkaard and Roberto Mancini. Former assistant Steve Clarke may also be in contention although Gianfranco Zola said this weekend that he has no intention of leaving West Ham.

Let us know with a comment below whether you think Chelsea were right to sack Scolari and who you think should be appointed manager number five of the Roman Abramovich era.

Plastic club get what they deserve, should never have sacked Grant.

The sacking of Grant comes full circle and slaps them in the face.

    Cromike nails it.

Chelsea sack Ranieri cause he can’t win the League or Champions League.

They sack Mourinho cause he didn’t win the Champions League.

They sack Avram cause he came second in everything with less than a season under his belt.

They’re sacking Scholari cause he was on a slow ship to 4th place.

Chelsea’s standards have been slipping for years. The next manager’s directive will be “please just make us look good, yeah?”.

The problem lies with the dimwits that own the club and expect results overnight.

When a new manager joins a club he needs at least 2 seasons to find his feet, re-structure his side and get them performing under his tactics.

I hate Chelski with a passion but Big Phil was too good for them, Abramovich deserves every failure he gets if this is how he treats people. he clearly knows nothing about the game and people like him are ruining it.
