Feast your eyes on some Champions League statistics

Roma’s poor record in England is good news for Arsenal fans

Roma’s record in England since the start of the Premier League

The above table shows all of Roma’s results away to English teams since the Premier League began and the number of times they have failed to score suggests that Arsenal shouldn’t be too worried about conceding an away goal. Here are some stats about the other massive Champions League match tonight between Inter Milan and Manchester United, courtesy of chickendinner:

» Sir Alex Ferguson has triumphed in just one of his twelve previous meetings with Jose Mourinho and that win came at Old Trafford.

» Manchester United are unbeaten in nineteen straight Champions League games and have kept clean sheets in four of their last five away games in the competition.

» The reigning champions have faced Jose Mourinho away from home five times but haven’t scored since their first ever encounter – the 2-1 loss to Porto.

» Inter Milan had the worst record of all sixteen sides that qualified for the knockout stages of this season’s Champions League: winning two, drawing two and losing two of their six group games. Even Shakhtar Donetsk, who were eliminated, picked up more points.

» However it was an Inter Milan victory over Porto at this stage in 2005 that started the curse of the champions, whereby the current Champions League holders have been eliminated in the round of 16 in each of the last four campaigns.
