Yeovil admit their drinking facilities aren’t up to scratch
Don’t go to Huish Park if you fancy a drink
Football fans in Somerset love nothing better than a good drink, but the Yeovil Town faithful have had to swill their cider in fairly unpleasant surroundings. Seb White – friend of The Spoiler and editor of Yeovil fanzine On To Victory and fan site Sloping Pitch – has got in touch to fill us in on the situation:
Yeovil Town supporters have complained long and hard for a bar for supporters to be able to drink in for years. Instead, we are given a tatty, mouldy, smelly Marquee which in short is embarrassing.
It’s a real sticking point with the fans – many have stopped going in recent years because of the deteriorating relationship between the board and the fans.
Finally, the club appear to have acknowledged the woeful boozing facilities via a message on the official website…

The marquee is bad but as you know, the club are building a social club when the ground is developed.
Shame that you feel the need to expose the club even further to ridicule regarding a marquee that was good enough to sell your book in.

“The marquee is bad but as you know, the club are building a social club when the ground is developed.”
Are they? Perhaps you could forward me the plans?
“expose the club even further to ridicule”
Err. ..think they managed to do that more than enough themsleves.
“regarding a marquee that was good enough to sell your book in.”
Not true, as I’m sure you’re aware I wasn’t allowed to sell it in the marquee as it was on sale in the club shop.

The plans will be released later in the year, There is no point spending money on something that will be gone in time.

Never made a spelling mistake? Ah yes, one just up there…^^^^

Intending to sell it in the marquee though, I believe…

That old chestnut, any idea which year? No doubt ‘covenants’ will delay them as they have done for the last 5 years!
“Spelling mistake”
I’m not paid to do so and I don’t do it all the time. And if you can’t appreciate the humour in the spelling mistake in this instance then you are clearly on the wrong site.
“Intending to sell it in the marquee though”
As it happens I drink before and after games in the marquee, which surely makes me a good judge as anyone as to how bad it is. The simple fact is that it’s awful, anyone saying otherwise is lying.
Nice username by the way – perhaps you could tell us the meaning behind it? Or do legal reasons prevent you from discussing it further
