John Terry’s mum arrested for shoplifting
England captain’s old lady cautioned for £800 theft

As the mother of a world famous Premier League star who takes home £135,000 a week for his troubles, Sue Terry is a lucky lady.
This morning’s Sun, however, suggests that the England captain may not be spreading the financial love to his mummy and inlaws, as she and Sue Poole (mother of JT’s WAG Toni Poole) have been arrested for nabbing £800 worth of gear from official England supermarket Tesco and official England suit purveyor Marks and Spencers:
Sue Terry, 50, and Sue Poole, 54, were nicked and officially cautioned by cops for shoplifting clothes and food from Marks & Spencer and Tesco.
Track suits were among the gear the women are said to have taken at the Brooklands Shopping Centre in Weybridge, Surrey.Police were called by security staff at 3pm on Wednesday and the pair were taken to Staines police station, Middlesex.
The two Sues formally accepted the police caution, and therefore acknowledged their guilt in the matter. Terry’s extraordinarily Scottish-sounding lawyer Angus McBride, however, insists that the ladies wouldn’t have agreed to be cautioned if they knew it implied guilt, and they will seek to clear their names:
“They didn’t do anything wrong. They didn’t have legal advice and weren’t aware they were admitting guilt.”
The Spoiler isn’t a hotshot lawyer or anything, but we’re pretty sure that taking good or services without paying them constitutes “doing something wrong”.
So, is Mummy Terry purloining cheap clothes and food out of necessity, is she feeding an uncontrollable kleptomania habit, or is this all a big misunderstanding based on the fact that she failed to realise that you have to pay for stuff before taking it from a shop? As soon as Terry’s lawyers cobble together the explanation, we’ll let you know…
