Sloppy, nervous stuff from the current champions of Europe last night. Jonny Evans waited nearly four minutes before letting Cristian Rodriguez open the scoring, and things didn’t improve much from then. Mariano nearly died of loneliness as the entire Utd defence left him alone to score a late equaliser, which means the Red Devils now face a must-win game at Estádio do Dragão – a ground where no English team has ever won.
Villarreal 1/ Arsenal 1
Things were much sexier over in Valencia. Marcos Senna’s brilliant early strike was ruled out by an even brillianter bycicle kick from Mr Emmanuel Adebayor. With an away goal in the bag, The Gunners have given themselves a much better chance of reaching the semis than their Manchester rivals.
