Barcelona target Ashley Cole and Cesc Fabregas, Tottenham interested in Gareth Barry
The latest transfer gossip, rumours and damned lies…
Today’s transfer round-up is dedicated to The Sun, who proudly say they were the first to suggest Liverpool were pursuing Carlos Tevez on May 12th. “What a shame it took the rest so long to eventually catch up,” they boast. We said exactly the same thing when we published the rumour on April 23rd, three weeks before the nation’s favourite red top.
Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona
Spanish paper Sport say Barcelona are very keen to re-acquire Fabregas’ services before he has the chance to be tempted by Florentino Perez’s Real Madrid: as soon as the Champions League final is over, they will pursue him. If he does not want to join this summer, Barca are happy to allow him to play one more season at Arsenal, provided he agrees to join the following year.
The Spoiler truth-o-meter: Fabregas has always stated his desire to play in La Liga, but if Wenger stays at the Emirates, we think his subject will stay too a little longer too.
Ashley Cole to Barcelona
The Daily Express are under the impression that Cashley may be joining Fabregas in Catalunya, as Barca are “poised” to offer £20m for him.
The Spoiler truth-o-meter: Obviously, it’s all about the Benjamins for Cole, so Chelsea are preparing to fend off advances from other clubs with a five-year deal that could see him earning £120,000 a week. The Spanish and the Blues will face fierce competition from Manchester City, however, who will reportedly lure the mercenary star with £130,000 a week.
Gareth Barry to Tottenham
The Independent believe ‘Arry is looking to bring some experience and professionalism to White Hart Lane, and will do so by offering Liverpool and Manchester City target £70,000 a week.
The Spoiler truth-o-meter: 28-year-old Barry doesn’t really fit the Tottenham transfer target profile, but would make an excellent leader in the absence of that chap with the dodgy knees and drinking habit.

Fabregas will probaly leave hes world class and isn’t winning anything at Arsenal which would frustrate any world class player
