Manchester Utd accept £80m bid for Cristiano Ronaldo
It’s finally happened, people…
The Manchester Utd official site suggests that Real Madrid will break the world transfer record twice in the same month, as the Red Devils have finally accepted an £80m bid for Cristiano Ronaldo.
A club statement said:
“”Manchester United have received a world-record, unconditional offer of £80million for Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid.”
“At Cristiano’s request – who has again expressed his desire to leave – and after discussion with the player’s representatives, United have agreed to give Real Madrid permission to talk to the player.
“Matters are expected to be concluded by 30 June. The club will not comment until further notice.”
It will be a shame to see C-Ron leave the Premiership, but this is undoubtedly a fantastic piece of business for Manchester Utd. If they can persuade him to put up with the rain, they may wish to reinvest some of that cash in Franck Ribery (although Bayern are now commanding a ridiculous £65m for his services, say The Times).
Now, we’ll have to wait and see if ‘CR7′ can rip his preferred shirt off of Raul’s back…
