Barcelona could poach Pepe Reina, Manchester City close to signing £30m Samuel Eto’o

The latest transfer gossip, rumours and damned lies…

Samuel Eto’o

Samuel Eto’o to Manchester City
The Daily Mail believe Barcelona are close to accepting a £30m bid for the Barcelona striker, even though he will demand a ridonculous £320,000-a-week in wages. That’s twice as much as the likes of Lampsie and Stevie G, and more than twice as much as he deserves.

The Spoiler
truth-o-meter:
The Cameroonian’s incredulous wage demands were a stumbling block in a touted move to Liverpool – surely even City aren’t prepared to pay those kind of wages.

Pepe Reina to Barcelona
Should the Catalan side be unable to secure a contract extension for Victor Valdes, they may put in a €20m bid for Spain’s number two, say El Mundo Deportivo.

The Spoiler truth-o-meter: Reina is under contract at Anfield until 2014, and we really can’t see Rafa letting him go anytime soon.

Thomas Vermaelen to Arsenal
The Dutch defender will have a medical at Arsenal tomorrow, after completing a deal said to be worth around £10m.

The Spoiler truth-o-meter: Vermaelen told the Dutch press: “The signature is not there yet, but everything is in order. This is one of the best days of my life.”
