Karim Benzema is up for grabs, Chelsea plan to sell Bosingwa
The latest transfer gossip, rumours and damned lies…
Karim Benzema to Manchester United
Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas has conceded that while they don’t plan to sell Benzema this summer, they may receive an offer that is too good to turn down. Aulas explained his predicament with this rather wonderful analogy: “There is a tsunami called Real Madrid which provokes reactions at Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United.”
The Spoiler truth-o-meter: Sir Alex Ferguson has spoken of his admiration for the French striker before – comparing him to Zinedine Zidane – but he may delay a move until Carlos Tevez makes a decision on his future.
Jose Bosingwa to Bayern Munich
It looks like Chelsea are getting rid of one right-back who is good going forward but occasionally vulnerable defensively for another. Portsmouth have confirmed accepting an offer from the Blues for Glen Johnson while Bayern Munich are said to be confident of signing Bosingwa.
The Spoiler truth-o-meter: Axing Bosingwa for someone Chelsea didn’t consider good enough two years ago only makes sense if they plan to offer the Portuguese defender to Bayern as part of a deal for Franck Ribery.
Mario Balotelli to West Ham
West Ham are really looking to exploit Steve Clarke’s friendship with Inter Milan boss Jose Mourinho this summer. The Hammers have already moved for Mancini and Luis Jimenez, and Gianfranco Zola was quoted in Gazzetta dello Sport saying that he wants to bring in striker Balotelli on loan.
The Spoiler Truth-o-meter: We’re sceptical about the accuracy of the quotes because Zola tends to avoid discussing other team’s players. If the 18-year-old is available, West Ham won’t be short of competition for him.
