Vote: Where should Michael Owen go?

The Athlete, The Ambassador, The Icon, The Job Hunter

Michael Owen

Since Michael Owen’s representatives actively attempted to lower his potential future earnings with their 32-page glossy joke, only one club have been brave enough to publicly declare an interest in the Championship striker. Phil Brown today spoke to the Hull Daily Mail:

“We will be speaking to Michael’s representatives within the week.

“I would think he would have a number of offers and we’ll have to be competitive.

“But I wouldn’t sit down with him if I thought I was wasting my time. Anything is possible in football.”

Despite Brown’s interest, Owen isn’t expected to turn out at the KC Stadium: Sky Bet price Phil Brown’s side at 8/1 to capture the 29-year-old, suggesting that he is waiting for a better offer.

Aston Villa are 6/4 favourites to sign him, with Everton 9/4 and Liverpool 5/1. It’s also 5/1 that he stays with Alan Shearer, the manager Owen is so confident will be a success that he is doing everything in his power to escape from.

The former England man’s brochure he wants to make the press “eat their words” next season (something that he didn’t seem too bothered about doing towards the end of the last campaign), but at which club should he dish up the humble pie?

Let us know your thoughts below…

Judging by the current voting it appears that your derisory comments relating to the possibilty of him signing for Hull could well come back to slap you………….not to mention Sky bet

He would be outshone at Villa or Everton by Gabby Agbongthewhore and Cahill/Fellani/Saha etc so he should go to Hull and get a season of first team footy under his belt.

He might even creep into the world cup squad!

If he goes anywhere else though they won’t put up with the BS he pulled at Newcastle. They would end his career then and there.

i voted for retire, cos 30 goals in 4 seasons for 40 mil for us means he can .
I also think he`s been working as if he`s been retired for us too, i personally think he has been the worst prem player per£ that has graced our club, and possibly the whole league, may he rest in pieces, scum

He should go to hell -

over paid, over rated, now over the hill. He should never have been signed – just further proof of the incompetent leadership that has been at the club for years. (althought he present clowns really will take some beating)
Now he has taken the money and will chip off – he won’t be a loss as he has been crap or injured for all the time he has been at Newcastle.
