Blind Item

Which Premier League player hid his injury so he could cash in on a new contract?

A snippet of gossip from our friends at Popbitch

This Premier League star has had a cruel run with injuries. But don’t feel too sorry for him, feel sorry for the club that’s paid his wages. The previous season was also injury-hit but the star needed his contract renewed. He knew his injury wouldn’t hold up to much scrutiny from the medical team so he developed an illness which meant he had to stay away from training just about every other day. He trained, got a bit hurt, but then spent the next day at home with his leg in an ice bath, keeping the swelling down. He just about got through the medical, was awarded a new contract and then rather promptly broke down injured again.

We know who it is, but do you? Take a guess below…

Roque Santa Cruz. No doubt about it. I’m a Rovers supporter and Santa Cruz has been slack for almost a year. Not only did we resign him, but we signed to his brother to the reserve squad. Good luck City, but he has a pattern of injuries.

    must be Keiron Dyer.

It can’t be Dyer because he didn’t sign a new contract last summer and wasn’t training at that point because he was already injured.

Another of our injury-prone players signed a new deal last summer then got injured again so if I was a betting man I’d go with him.

Its not Rosicky he has a contract till 2010 nor Bullard because he snubbed fulham`s contract and signed for hull. My guess is either Dyer or Ashton.
