60,000 Barcelona fans turn up to see overrated Swede unveiled at the Nou Camp
Ibrahimovic receives a record breaking welcome in Spain
Barcelona have finally ended their search for a Swedish striker with incongruous tattoos and a tendency to bottle big games by securing the services of Zlatan Ibrahimovic this week. And as a Brucey Bonus, the Catalan giants sent that pesky Samuel Eto’o off to Inter Milan as part of the deal. Everybody wins!
To celebrate the arrival of their new striker, Barca fans turned out in force at his official unveiling last night. In the biggest player presentation in Barcelona history, a whopping 60,000 people piled into the Nou Camp to see the Swede turn up two hours late, say thank you, kiss a badge and do some keep ups.
When Ronaldinho was unveiled in 2004, just 20,000 fans turned up. Therefore, Ibrahimovic is exactly three times better than Ronaldinho in his prime. Fact.

Why would Barca change a winning formula? I know Pep and Eto’o had their differences, but if that means winning the treble surely you would want to keep it the same? This deal has to be the ripp off of the century? Surely Inter must be laughing all the way to the bank. Ibra isn’t a big game player, he’s proved that over the course of his career, and ain’t Barca involved in a lot of big games? Hmmmmm…..

Sure, he is overrated but still probably one of europes 20 best players right now. And one thing is for sure. There isnt one english player at this moment that is even close to his level of football. In fact, there probably never been any. Got to agree about Inter laughing all the way to the bank though.

His level of being totally unable to mix it with the big sides in europe? Of being a bottler and nothing more than a showpony who can only score goals past bog-standard opposition?
I bet Gerrard, Rooney, Lampard et al are gutted they’re not playing at that kind of level.

A lil too much hate going on here so I thought I would chip in my 2 cents.
Firstly, we had to sell Eto because a) his contract was ending next year and he was not willing to extend b) Pep had always wanted a point man rather than a speedy forward like Eto.
Yes, it is a gamble. Will it pay off, we will see. But no one can doubt Ibra’s capabilities. He is WORLD CLASS! He will bring a strong presence up front that can hold the ball, create chances, hit those long range wonders & finish Dani’s crosses with his head.
Blaming CL exits on him is pointless since you should first look at the Inter squad whose midfield is weak in creativity & Ibra had to create his own chances. With Xavi & Iniesta working behind him and Henry and Messi with him…I think he could become even better.
I will still miss Eto however but we have to move on and see what the future holds.

P.S. We all know numbers have nothing to do with anything … Ronnie was not well known as Ibra when he came.
Ronnie will always be world class, dont think many players can be put in the same category as his. Ibra is not near that yet.

So typical English fan or whatever you are. Best on paper as usual but when it really matters your so called stars always choke! Gerrard, Rooney and Lampard! Wow. Was that the best you could compare with. You guys havent had a great player since the days of Keegan but then again he wasnt English after all. And btw, im from Sweden and we are still waiting for you to beat us but that seems a bit hard for your so called stars.
