MwepuLlunga Croke park holds 83,000 which isn’t bad for an amateur sport pitch!!!
i’ll agree Irish players at the moment aren’t the best but they do work well together and all no their jobs which is why we were one of 5 unbeaten teams in the group stage!!! lets hope it remains that way for the playoffs!!!!!!!!!!

I don’t think he said Ireland were England B, he said Ireland are the same as England, as we know how they play.

I don’t think he said that British quote, somebody stirring things i think ;p

Doesn’t Croke Park hold 90,000. Given would be England No1 and Ireland would get squad. The rest on current form wouldn’t get near the B team.

Hey All,

I’m a French guy who’s lived in the UK for 5 years before starting a football website in France last year.

As much as I really dislike Domenech and think he is a clown who has never managed to win a single trophy despite having all the great generation when he was managing France under 21, what he said wasn’t “B side” but “bis” which means “equivalent”.

So that wasn’t patronising, just very very clumsy. But we all know he’s an ass anyway.

I’m writing a daily media review on my website and everyone agrees in France that this is the toughest draw possible, that the Irish are right to be pissed off with FIFA and that gives them extra motivation. 95% of the papers and websites also say both teams have the same chance to go through.

The big worry is that the Irish fans are more dedicated to their national teams, will fight harder to get tickets, and might be louder than the french support in Paris.

To be fair to the man, he never actually said the Irish team was like ‘an England B team’ at all.

‘Angleterre bis’ means ‘another England’ or ‘the same as England’, not England B, so in a way he was actually paying us a backhanded compliment by comparing us to a team that qualified with ease for SA 2010….

He’s a right knob for referring to us fans as ‘British’ though (the shame, the shame!)…

AP: Try and defend what he said about Irish fans then, when he told French fans to make sure and buy up all the tickets they could for the Paris leg because if they didn’t “the other side would get on the internet & buy them themselves… and you know what the British are like!”

guys this guy is a clown, i have friends who are french and rang striaght away to say how they were going to beat us!!! they’re arrogant, its their way, but Irish people are very proud, example our amateur national sports HQ hold 83,000 ppl. anyway on the plus side, france are still living on past glory, why can’t we give them a game, no one else could beat us competivetly!!!!
