Raymond Domenech doesn’t have the best timing…

French gaffer puts his foot in it once again

Thanks to his possessing an incredible, almost slapstick, level of incompetence, Raymond Domenech doesn’t have a lot of friends amongst the footballing community. Especially in his own country. He could have even less today, after making a rather ill-judged faux pas during Friday’s pre-playoff press conference:

People can say what they want, when they want. I stopped listening to them a long time ago, otherwise I would have committed suicide.

Meanwhile, 45,000 turned out in support at Robert Enke‘s memorial service over the weekend…

    Oh, STFU!!!

ITs the same thing, fans always thing THEIR team should win and when it doesnt, its the end of the world and the coach is to blame.

Who was the coach for the last World Cup final, the famous “zidane is a twit” game? Domenech.

And the guy who WON that game has been getting nothing but grief in Italy because the team doesnt look impressive.

Football is the most popular sport in the world, and the world is filled with idiots.
And french idiots always think THEY are right.

You probably dont remember that Domenech was criticized for
dropping Ludovic Giuly in favour of Franck Ribéry on the national team. I DARE you tell me where Giuly plays now or ever played.

You probably dont remember how his choice of Fabien Barthez over Olympique Lyonnais goalkeeper Grégory Coupet in 2006 was again met with derision. Barthez lost the finals on PK.s

So for every stupid move he does, there are just as many where he got blasted for moves that ended up being right.

of course, its just easier to jump into the meme du jour. this is a blog after all.

Btw, Stan Collymore talks about wanting to kill himself this week in the UK, it shoudlnt be a taboo topic.
National team coaches have as much pressure if not more than players, blowing their brains is not only a possibility but something fans suggest on a regular basis.

yeah Lafleur that completely justifies using suicide as a joke in the same context as in what happened this week in germany.

I’ll take you up on that dare Guy. He currently plays for PSG, started at Lyon, then Monaco, then Barca, then Roma. Off the top of my head, but as a PSG fan it’s ingrained. I don’t get your point with Barthez…everyone agrees Coupet probably would have done better, Barthez wasn’t that good, the rest of the team just oozed class.
