Chelsea to throw everything at Ribery deal

Oh dear, this could get preposterous

Franck Ribery

If you’re not a calm man/woman, don’t ever play poker. What starts as a cautious bit of well thought out fun can often result in a rush of blood, as you clumsily gamble away your wife and children. Then, eventually, your car. Was it worth it? Probably not.

Which is exactly why Abramovich would be wise to take a deep intake of breath before the transfer window opens for business in January.

With the more-than-likely ban shutting the thing on their fingers as of next summer, Chelsea look set to part with around £100 million in the New Year. A large chunk of that should already be going in the direction of Sergio Aguero of Atletico Madrid, and now both The Sun and The Daily Star have reported that record fees could conceivably bring Franck Ribery to Stamford Bridge.

According to Uli Holness, the general manager at Bayern:

“The best bid for Franck came from Chelsea – £65m plus their player Jose Bosingwa.”

But what’s this? Man City and Real Madrid have just arrived at the table. Breathe, Roman. Breathe.

Heh, love your priorities. Bet the family, then the car…
