Ruud van Nistelrooy gallops to Liverpool’s rescue
Might this have put him off Arsenal slightly?
In a move commonly known as “the reverse Michael Owen”, van Nistelrooy looks set to join rank at Liverpool in January, just in time to plop himself across a couple of empty seats on the bench, still warm from the departed buttocks of Voronin and Babel.
According to The Mirror, the Dutch striker is keen to show his country what he can do during the build up to the World Cup, and having plummeted down a greasy pole at Real Madrid – behind the likes of Benzema, Higuain and Raul in the pecking order - it appears that he would much rather chance his arm playing big-faced understudy to Fernando Torres.
The word is that he’s so keen to reunite his family with the North West that he’s even wafted away a genuine offer from the kind men at Arsenal.
Presumably this decision might have had something to do with the recurring night terrors about Martin Keown shouting in his face.
So, a good move for the striker? Good business for Liverpool? Let us know with a comment
