I think Mr Wenger should take a look at the situations of a certain Adriano and that former Lyon fella Fred. Both want to play in the World Cup thus motivated, both played for top clubs in Europe before and both had great seasons at Brazil.

Dzeko is cup-tied and his boss doesn’t want to sell him, Chamakh’s cup-tied and his boss doesn’t want to sell him, Balotelli is cup-tied, expensive and unpredictable.

Horseface is too old for Wenger and persona non grata, Bojan is interesting but perhaps too young and too similar to Vela, Kenwyne is just not good enough. Cole is probably the best fit, but again maybe too similar to Bendtner who should be fit in the new year.

I certainly don’t have an answer. Le Boss will surprise us all, probably buy another centre half and stick Vermaelen up front.
