Player of the year

And The Spoiler’s Player of the Year IS…

Ryan Giggs!

Ryan Giggs

Well, in the end there were no surprises really. Ryan Giggs – Sports Personality of the Year, PFA Player of the Year. Now The Spoiler’s Player of the Year.

It was close for a bit, with the first 1000 or so votes split evenly between the Welshman and Drogba, but something happened between Sunday evening and Monday morning to find the elderly wingman absolutely sprinting away with it.

His trophy has been popped in the post, and after the jump, enjoy some footage of YOUR favourite player of 2009.

Seriously? I thought you guys were into making fun of football media, instead you’re just slotting yourself in with them with this pick. He was great at the beginning of the year, then barely played, and did nothing when he did.

Uh, the award is based on votes cast by fans. Derp.

Then everyone should be ashamed of themselves.

    Pretty average year.

He was ok at the beginning, unlike drogba who didn’t seem to even show up at games, during the second half he was outstanding, as was drogba. IMO it was his consistency what earned him the 1rst place.

good pick. look at how man utd perform without him most of the time and you will understand his importance. Legend.

oh brad you are such a child…..when he plays, he brings his flair and influence into the team……its not the number of minutes he plays…its what he brings into the team….

drogba is strong and pacey player (like a dog who is always running to catch the frisbee) but hes not influential….

And I’ve seen him to bring flair and influence to the team, but I’ve also seen him disappear in games just as much.
