Rooney would make a great Galactico, so says Ronaldo

Roonster – Bernabeu-bound?

Wayne Rooney

After Figo, Zidane, Ronaldo and Becksie all marked the early/mid 2000s with a Bernabeu stop-off, the Galactico buying policy reemerged spectacularly over the summer with Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Xabi Alonso all packing up their various face lotions, hair styling products, leg oils, and small mantelpiece-sized statues of Jesus Christ into a Real Madrid manbag and heading off to Spain’s dreamy capital.

And now, the whispering voices from The Daily Mirror suggest that Wayne Rooney could yet be the prime Galactico target during next summer’s transfer window. His old United team mate, C. Ronaldo – apparently pestering his new bosses to sign his pal – said this:

“He can be a spectacle and sensation at Real Madrid and has all of the qualities to succeed in La Liga.”

So might Wayne one day stand alongside great English players who have wowed the Bernabeu? Beckham, McManaman, Owen… err, Woodgate.

Rooney, “Once a blue, Always a red”. United ’til he dies.

It makes sense- Real always pay over the odds and United are desperate for cash. And it’s not like he has any deeply felt connection to ManYoo. When Fergie goes, he’ll be off and good luck. Also, they’ll fall to pieces, at last.
