The Big Question
Would Patrick Vieira be a good first signing for Mancini?
Still good business?
How a manager plays his first hand in the transfer window can be all-important?
To put things in perspective, when Wenger joined Arsenal in 1996, his first demands were to nab Remi Garde from Strasbourg and Patrick Vieira from Milan. One of which moves proved to be magnificent business.
Sir Alex Ferguson signed Viv Anderson from Arsenal when he took over at Man United in 1987, with the player enjoying a couple of decent years at the club.
Whilst Rafa Benitez first splashed out on Malaga’s Josemi in 2004, in what proved to be a rather flaccid beginning.
Were these all thinly-veiled omens for things to come?
And is Vieira a strong first signing for the new Man City boss?
