New Spanish whizz-kid alert!
The new Fabregas… or something
As everyone is slowly finding out, the trick with Spanish footballers is to get them while they’re young. That way, they won’t set you back preposterous amounts of money when they finally hit their stride.
Wenger pioneered this course of action when he snaffled young Cesc Fabregas for about five bob. Whilst Benitez tasted the rather less saccharine end of the same lollipop when he splashed out huge sums on Fernando Torres. Hence, it’s little wonder that so many big clubs are scrapping over Spain’s new teen sensation.
The lad in question is Sergio Canales – an 18-year-old with just a handful of appearances under his belt for Racing Santander, but a cluster of caps for the various national youth teams.
The word coming from across the choppy seas that separate this beautiful snowy nation from the blistering hot summers, and fine chorizo sausages is that he’s a brilliant prospect, this attacking midfielder, with four goals in his last three games for his club side.
Chelsea appear to be leading the way in a tussle that also involves Arsenal, Man City, Liverpool, Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Below is a video of the teenager scoring a nice goal.

Hes more like David Silva than Fabregas. A fantastic prospect and out of contract in June. Although he does have a clause that if he plays over 500 minutes is automatically extended.
