Wenger eyes up the familiar face of Louis Saha

“Goodbye Everton!”

Louis Saha

Normally, when Arsene Wenger expresses an interest in a player, it then takes hours of research to find out who the person is. Invariably, they will have a surname that causes hysterical pub debate, and sit somewhere between boyhood and manhood in puberty terms.

All of which makes today something of a rarity, because the Frenchman – so says The Daily Mail – is rumoured to be interested in 31-year-old Louis Saha (pronounced: “Sa-Ha”).

The word on the street is that the men in suits who prowl around the various offices at Everton FC are not so keen on coughing up the £60,000/week that the French striker is insisting on, so he may yet be forced to move house, with Arsenal a very real possibility, thanks to the crippling striker shortage that has been haunting Wenger’s nightmares.

Wenger has said this of the Frenchman:

“When Saha plays ten games on the trot you can compare him with any striker.”
