WORLD CUP 2010

Do you know anyone going to World Cup 2010?

Slow ticket sales worry organisers

Despite everyone seeming incredibly excited at the prospect of another World Cup being upon us, it seems nobody willing to leave the comfort of their living room/pub chair to watch it.

According to the Guardian, Dutch and German football authorities have admitted supply ‘far exceeds’ demand for their matches, and England are far enough within their allocation that everyone in the official supporters club who applied for tickets is easily expected to get one.

Are you going to the World Cup? If you aren’t and you managed to get your grubby hands on a ticket would you go? Or have people been genuinely scared off by stories of stab-proof vests with England flags on them, private security companies being hired to protect players and Louis Theroux documentaries about people threatening to put babies in ovens?

I was all set to buy a ticket, but I ended up buying back surgery instead.

I’d rather go on a field trip to Kabul then to the World Cup.

    Safer, at least.

I might have wanted to go with a friend of mine, but her brother’s best mate was murdered there by a car jacker.

I have a feeling this is going to be a very poor Cup.

Have tickets to 2 group games in Cape Town. I’m Irish and I met my Ameican wife there 7 years ago. Flights from the US are VERY expensive, but it’s a once in a lifetime trip. I was there for a month backpacking from Jo’burg to Cape Town in 2003 and had a great time.
It’s about time Africa got to host the World Cup

Yes, airfare from the States is a problem and it doesn’t get much better looking for an A>B>C route. I have a good friend who is well placed in SA , but still wouldn’t go anywhere other than Cape Town.

Bokolis doesn’t go anyplace where I might need my gun but can’t bring one. I don’t have much of an issue facing death, but I’d have a major problem with not having a shot at taking some skin off the muthafucka that tried it.

Uh I’m going, I live in the US and have tickets for all group stage games. People shouldn’t be so worried. The worst that will probably happen is I’ll lose my rape card. But that had to happen sometime.
