The Big Question
VOTE: Is Rooney now one of the planet’s best?
“I’m amazing!”
In the last twenty years or so, England have threatened to produce a “great”. Gazza was alright for a bit, Beckham had the profile, but not the pace. And certain members of the vast Spoiler offices insist that McManaman could have been up there, given the right platform on which to stretch his long, womanly legs.
None of those quite worked out, but, if Ryan Giggs has anything to do with it, the Holy Trinity of Kaka, Ronaldo and Messi will soon be a glorious foursome, featuring his team mate, Wayne Rooney.
According to the Welshman (as reported in today’s Daily Star):
“He is getting nearer that group.”
But what do YOU think? Is Rooney now one of football’s elite? Let us know with a vote and a comment.

Not a chance… the likes of Defoe* are better. They just dont play with the advantage of having the opposition been pre-terrified by the United loving media.
*Defoe is also well behind players like Anelka, Torres and Drogba.

Some players like Defoe and Rooney need great passes from teammates to score. If they don’t get in a good position to shoot, most of the time they can’t do anything. Most English strikers are like this.
But some players are special. Players like Torres, Messi and Tevez can create a scoring chance even in a seemingly impossible position i.e. people call it create something out of nothing. Rooney can’t do that so far, frankly speaking.

Of course he can create goals out of nothing, you moron. See his chip vs Portsmouth in the FA Cup? His last minute screamer against Milan? His volley against Newcastle? Last season, his side step and curler into the far corner against Bolton. Nutters..
