Get excited everyone, England face Wales in Euro qualifiers!
Yeah, Giggs won’t actually be playing
Those of you who didn’t make it past the column inches dedicated to deciphering exactly what makes John Terry tick in bed might well have missed the big news about England’s Euro 2012 qualifying group – which, by the way, reads a little something like this:
Group G: England, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Wales, Montenegro.
As reported in today’s Telegraph, Capello said this about the group:
“Every game will be really tough.”
“It will be interesting. It will be impossible for us to play even one game relaxed.”
“We’ll have to stay focused as we will face really good teams.”
And he seemed particularly excited about facing his Welsh brothers and sisters (or, more specifically, just brothers) during the campaign:
“Derbies are never normal games. It will be one of the most important games for me.”
Fact fans will be pleased to note that England have yet to lose to Wales in a tournament qualifier.
They did, however, lose a fair few Home Championship matches back in “the day”. Below is some proof of that…
