Transfer Talk

Oh dear, Man United, looks like City fancy Vidic

“Come on, let’s go!”

Vidic and Tevez

In architectural terms, Man United now rather resembles a proud National Trust building, rich with history and moderate wealth, but in danger of disappearing under the shadow of a shiny futuristic megastore that’s under construction down the road – a place where workers will be forced to do the same kind of mundane customer service work, but for double wages!

Already, Carlos Tevez – United’s “Employee of the Month” on more than one occasion – has been seduced by pulsating wage packets from the mysterious robed men who employ him. And now, the whisper on the street is that Nemanja Vidic could be slipping into something light blue come the start of the next campaign.

According to yesterday’s Sunday Times, the Serbian centre back is feeling a little bit unloved at his current home, and talk of summer transfers to Real Madrid or AC Milan have now been replaced with a rather less cumbersome, but infinitely more dramatic move up the road to Man City for around £20million.

City did, of course, pay out astronomical money for Kolo Toure and Joleon Lescott at the start of the current season, but with little in the way of success in that department, they will be busy putting together a glitzy package that could yet echo the £250,000/week stonker that so nearly dragged John Terry away from London, and closer to his best pal, Wayne Bridge.

Would Vidic be bonkers to cross the divide? It doesn’t seem to have done Tevez too much harm.

Let us know with a comment.

Hmmm. Vidic will leave because his wife is tired of living in the grey and damp of Manchester. Not even the more-money-than -sense owners of shiteh can guarantee sun!! Although I’m sure Gawy Cwook will state otherwise!! LOL. Next rumour

I agree with Steve… why would he go down the road if his wife will still be bitching about manchester, if he leaves..i predict sunny Spain.

If he really wants to leave..then adios, thanks for the last 3 years, but I hope you dont turn into Twatez.

Last season’s Nemanja Vidic: the cost would be beyond reckoning.

This season’s Nemanja Vidic: Three pints of Old Peculiar and a packet of Pork Scratchings.

He’s gone all Billy Big Boots this season; if they want to lay out £20m for someone who’s heart isn’t in it and is guaranteed to get turned over twice as season by a half-fit Fernando Torres … well City already have Lescott and Toure for that, but they can certainly have Vidic.

agreed with everyone above, if he wants to go it is because he wants sun and ocean he can swim in. Not down the road to same grey skies and all the taunts from United forever.

Certainly I wouldn’t give 20 million quid on anyone playing in United right now, perhaps Cesc would rise up to that amount, but that’s it.

Besides…20 million pounds…isn’t it a bit too much for kicking a ball and some ankles anyway?
