VOTE: Champions League 4th spot play-off – a good idea?
More exciting? Or, erm, not?
The word from today’s Guardian is that the big suited honchos who run the Premier League are considering the introduction of play-offs for the final Champions League spot at the end of each season.
These would take place – most probably in a home-and-away knock out competition – between the clubs finishing 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th come the season’s end, adding a little bit of extra spice during the last months of Premier League football.
Rather predictably, objections have come from Chelsea, Man United, Liverpool and Arsenal, whilst the rest of the league is reportedly keen to give it a bash.
But what do YOU think? Would play-offs make for a more exciting finale? Or is it all just too damn overcomplicated?

Not Fair????… it is already a joke compared to it’s title, Champions League (CHAMPIONS!), not a first, second and 7th loser league. if you let 4th place league losers..then give the other a chance.

YEH GIVE IT A GO..
WILL BE ALOT MORE EXCITING!!
WILL ALSO MEAN THE 4TH PLACED TEAM WILL NOT JUST REST UP TOWARDS THE END OF THE SEASON THERE WILL ALWAYS BE A BIG FIGHT FOR THE SECURE 3RD POSITION. THE MONEY OF THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE COULD ALSO MAKE A SMALLER TEAM A BIG ONE IF THEY MADE IT. THE LEAGUE WOULD BE ALOT MORE INTERESTING THEN.
DARK KNIGHT IS RIGHT 4TH PLACE IS NO CHAMPION ANYWAY!

no no no. 4th is not champions as it is, finishing 7th and being allowed into the champions league is stupid. UEFA devalued the champions league as it is by allowing tiny leagues from eastern europe into the competion.
sooner or later stilly ideas like this will cause the top for to setup a european super league.
