Buffon – leave him alone!
In chicken shop terms, footballers are forced to endure the equivalent of your boss at KFC receiving relentless daily phone calls from the podgy guy who works over in Chicken Cottage claiming that you don’t want to work there any more, you need a new challenge, and that you will be starting over at “the cottage” in the next few weeks.
After a while, you might feel somewhat abused by these presumptions, as you wander home in your stark red and white KFC uniform, your heart stopping momentarily every time a car slows down. Is it the Chicken Cottage guy? Why won’t be stop bothering you? You love KFC. Your colleagues are like family.
All of which leads rather seamlessly to Gianluigi Buffon, who has had it up to here with all of the big talk from Man City suggesting that he will moving away from Juventus, and heading to sunny Manchester during the next transfer window.
Referring to rumours of a £32million move, Buffon’s agent, Silvano Martina, said this:
“Gigi is very annoyed.”
He went on to explain that the whispers are completely “baseless” – which, presumably, is the Italian way of saying that they’re lies.
Now leave him alone.
