Fabregas makes self-diagnosis, and some uplifting news
Puyol breaks Cesc’s leg… or not
A high ranking member of The Spoiler team is frequently reminded by his mother about the time he casually wandered into the kitchen to inform her that he’d just fallen over outside and might have broken his legs. He hadn’t. It’s something that she still finds hilarious.
Hence, she will no doubt be doubled over in fits of hysterical laughter with news that Cesc Fabregas has just done almost exactly the same thing. Although, in his case, he was at least hobbling a bit.
As reported in today’s Daily Mail, the Arsenal skipper said this:
“I am not good. I fear the worst, which it that I broke something but we will have to wait.”
“I hope I will be able to wear the Arsenal shirt again this season.”
“I took the penalty quite strongly and then went to get the ball and after that I couldn’t walk any more.”
“I don’t know whether I did it then or when I was fouled for the penalty.”
“I don’t think it is going to be good news but I hope that it will be. It is the fibula.”
In other news from last night’s magnificent match, Arsenal can take extra comfort from the draw, after Guardiola claimed that his team has never played so well. Or, to use his exact words:
“We are happy to come here and let people watch our team and our game.”
“We never played last year like we did today away.”
“We moved the ball and didn’t allow them to play.”
“We created many chances.”
