Find some newer pictures of United players behaving that way? I remember Ferguson saying that he was embarassed about that behaviour, especially in the Andy D’urso case, and that he had instilled in his players that they should avoid harassing the referee… Not that I think the germans were too bad about it yesterday at all, although Ribery could have had a yellow for telling the ref to caution Rafael twice. That is in fact a yellow card offence these days.

Not much else to say, other than United’s own fault that they went out. And I’m a United fan.

Ferguson’s comment was completely unacceptable. What makes it worse is that in the past he has made similar unacceptable xenophobic remarks about the Spanish and Italians, among others.

If it wasn’t because the British press and football establishments are so up his arse something would have been done about it.

If he made similar comments about another race, it would quite rightly have caused huge uproar, but for some reason it has been treated as less awful when Ferguson has intentionally offended and wrongly stereotyped different nations.

All managers/players/officials should be banned, at least temporarily, for comments such as these.
