Arsenal could do with Palacios, suggests Perry Groves
He wouldn’t dare… would he?
Clearly disobeying one of the ten commandments about not coveting thy neighbour’s ox, Perry Groves – former Arsenal man – has made his feelings clear about Tottenham’s Wilson Palacios.
As reported on Goal.com, he said this:
“He’s the kind of midfield player we’re missing. He has high energy levels, a great work-ethic and stops the other team from playing.”
“I think it’s quite ironic that Palacios came on trial to Arsenal but at the time we had Vieira, Gilberto and Fabregas, and Wenger couldn’t see him breaking into our side so recommended the player to Steve Bruce when he was at Birmingham.”
“We’ve got a very young side that needs experience and I think Palacios fits the bill. Spurs are unlikely to let their best player come to us. But it’s that kind of player that we need.”
Of course, Palacios famously landed himself in rather boiling water quite recently, when he said this:
“I am really happy at Tottenham but I will continue working for a future move to a bigger club.”
Begging the question – could Arsenal be that bigger club?
Would a man have to be crazy to tread in the footprints of Sol Campbell?

Perry, put a sock in it.
Wilson is doing just fine
at WHL so you can keep
that shit in your mouth.
Pray for Spurs for a victory
to bounce back to stake the
claim for THIRD!!!

spurs wrung 20 + 30m out of utd for carrick and berbatov. even if this was a remote possibility, arsenal would never be able to afford to match a price for someone with years left on his contract
also, considering palacios usually struggles to complete a pass further than 10 yards; not sure he’d fit in with the ‘arsenal way’

Considering Palacios is nothing more than an average player I don’t see why we would even bother looking at him. Wenger already gave him to Wigan for goodness sake.
Perry Groves may be a Legend, but he is right up there with Ray Parlour as the least deserving pundits on the scene.

Palacios is average at best. I’ve never seen him play a game either at Wigan or at Tottenham where he didn’t make a stupid, irrational challenge on the other team.
