The day Jol and Wenger almost had a fight, remembered

The smart money was probably on Martin Jol

He doesn’t have the look of a street fighter, Arsene Wenger. If anything, his fighting technique of choice would probably sit somewhere in the bracket of martial arts, featuring a series of over-the-top karate chops, perhaps a tie fashioned around his head, trousers slightly rolled up. That kind of thing. And yet, for a couple of seconds back in 2006, it looked like he was going to clumsily attempt a death move on Martin Jol.

So, in a bid to whet everyone’s appetite with just a few hours to go before the latest installment of the North London Derby, above is a clip of this terrifying exchange between two managers. Henry Redknapp would be wise to take note.
